Damian Greenish of Pemberton Greenish LLP primarily advises the owners of landed estates within Greater London, but also acts as a solicitor for many other private landlords, investors and tenants in the field of residential landlord and tenant. He has been involved in many of the landmark cases in the field of leasehold reform in recent years deciding issues of deferment rates, relativity, hope value etc. as well as many points of statutory construction. He is the co-author of the leading enfranchisement textbook, Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement. He regularly writes, lectures and chairs conferences on the subject of leasehold reform. He is a member of the residential management committee of the British Property Federation and the Honorary President of ALEP.
Alex Greenslade co-founded ALEP in May 2007 with his sister Anna Bailey. He is Honorary Secretary of ALEP and sits on the Executive and Advisory Commitees, as well as providing strategic support to Anna in the day-to-day running of the Association. Alex is also Managing Director of Leasehold Solutions Limited, a company he set up in 2002, having already worked as an intermediary for leaseholders since 1998. He has wide experience of initiating and managing enfranchisement projects, specialising in selling and practical delivery to the end consumer. He is fluent in German and French and has an MA from Cranfield Business School.
Anna Bailey, co-founder of ALEP with her brother, Alex Greenslade, is a Director and Company Secretary of the Association. As well as co-ordinating the strategic work of the Executive Committee (made up of Anna Bailey, Alex Greenslade and Mark Chick), she is responsible for running ALEP on a day-to-day basis, organising committee meetings, managing the membership applications, devising and implementing the programme of events, working with an external PR Manager and the Members' PR Working Group, liaising with the website company and implementing changes and updates as required, and overseeing the membership and financial administration that is carried out by Liza Smith. She is also co-director of Leasehold Solutions Limited and runs a marketing communications company, Peppermint UK, to keep her hand in as a professional Chartered Marketer.
Mark Chick is a solicitor specialising in leasehold reform and a partner at Bishop & Sewell LLP where he is the head of the firm's landlord and tenant department. Mark has experience of advising on a wide range of issues relating to landlord and tenant, including property litigation, and is on the LVT frequent user panel. He is an ALEP Director and Executive Committee member, providing strategic input particularly in the area of governance. Andrew Pridell of Andrew Pridell Associates Ltd is a valuer and surveyor renowned for his outspoken opinions and entertaining delivery. He is the scourge of many a Leasehold Valuation Tribunal (LVT) and has completed over 4,000 cases all over the country, including Prime Central London and as far north as Harrogate, in the east to Broadstairs and west to Cardiff.
He has been involved in some of the leading cases including Lynari and Arrowdell. He lectures on the subject, conducts seminars with kindred professions and was a member of the RICS working party on relativity.
Andrew is a Director of ALEP and sits on the Advisory Commitee.
Colin Cohen has worked in residential block management from a young age and set up his own business over 20 years ago, after gaining much expertise and knowledge in all areas of property management, having worked for major Managing Agents. Colin is a fellow member of the IRPM to which there are only a small elite number throughout the country and regularly attends seminars and conferences to keep fully updated with any changes on all aspects of the industry. Additionally he is always on hand to give advice and assist where needed particularly in regard to Property Management.
Angus Fanshawe is a leading enfranchisement and residential valuation surveyor based in central London.
Angus worked for six years with Strutt and Parker, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1990 before moving to Douglas & Gordon in 1994 to set up a professional valuation department, becoming a Director of the company in 2002. After fifteen years with D&G, based in South Kensington, Angus decided to leave the company to set up Fanshawe White with his former colleague James White.
Angus is one of London's best known enfranchisement valuers. He is renowned for his no nonsense approach, for producing sensible, practical advice and then achieving successful results for his clients. He often appears as expert valuation witness at the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal (LVT), but always strives to reach an amicable settlement through negotiation whenever possible.
Mark is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer whose background is in residential valuation, residential estate agency, property letting and management. He has been developing myleasehold ltd since the introduction of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002; as the relaxation in the qualifying conditions simplified the process and thus increased the demand for professional valuation services.
Mark has always followed Leasehold Reform practice and law and was one of the first members of ALEP. He promotes higher professional standards in the complex field of Leasehold Reform and maintains an active interest in the residential sector in general and currently holds a seat on the RICS Lettings Management Group.
