ALEP prides itself on delivering conferences twice a year that are specific and relevant to the leasehold enfranchisement sector and the line-up for this event is no exception.

In January 2015, Philip Rainey QC presented a paper to MPs and stakeholders entitled ‘Further Leasehold Reform Radical Thinking’.  ALEP is delighted to welcome Philip – along with leading barristers Anthony Radevsky and Thomas Jefferies – to this, its 17th conference, and offer delegates an opportunity to further discuss this important paper.  This debate, which promises to be lively and thought provoking, will be chaired Joshua Rozenberg, Britain’s best-known commentator on the law.

Alex Greenslade, ALEP’s founder and Honorary Secretary, will be discussing non-participant funding in collective enfranchisements and will be using his extensive experience of brokering many of these transactions to guide delegates through the various types of funding available, as well as reviewing their pros and cons from legal, financial and political perspectives.

Mark Loveday and Nicola Muir, barristers at Tanfield Chambers, will present ALEP’s traditional case update outlining what’s hot in 2015 and what’s to come in 2016.

ALEP is delighted to welcome Peter Beddard, Partner, Arundales Chartered Accountants, to the ALEP conference where he will be discussing and debating the hidden tax pitfalls of enfranchisement.  Peter will share the answers to those questions most frequently asked of him, describe the common enfranchisement taxation pitfalls and explain to delegates how best to keep their clients – and themselves – well informed and thereby protected from unnecessary future tax liabilities.

Tickets for the conference will be available with a 20% discount if booked before 11 September.

Bookings open on Monday 3 August 2015.
