The ALEP Conference

ALEP’S FIRST ‘ANNUAL’ CONFERENCE

In just ten years ALEP has grown to be an influential organisation that seeks to promote best practice and raise standards for the clients of our 200-plus members, be they leaseholders or freeholders. ALEP influences at high levels and supports redress of any legislative imbalance and the correction of wrongdoing.

ALEP represents the very best professionals in the sector and plans educational and networking events in line with their needs. Having already held 21 conferences, this conference sees a move to holding an annual event; this will enable the team to hold other types of events at other times of the year, including events outside London.

Over the past ten years, the Association has consistently delivered exceptional conferences that are relevant and specifically tailored to our membership. Speakers renowned for their expertise and knowledge have graced the ALEP stage, bringing with them a unique insight into the niche sector in which we operate. This, our first annual conference, will be no exception, with debate and voting throughout.

We have included morning sessions for those of you who may be newer to the sector - or just looking to refresh your knowledge - as well as breakout sessions in the main conference around the topical issue of leasehold houses, which will enable delegates to explore and debate the finer points at length.

Your host Damian Greenish, Consultant, Pemberton Greenish

We are delighted to welcome Damian Greenish to host our first ever annual conference
at the Barbican Centre.

Damian Greenish has been a solicitor for over 40 years and is a leading authority on leasehold reform, advising both landlords and tenants on all aspects of leasehold enfranchisement. He has been involved in many of the landmark leasehold reform cases in the Supreme Court, House of Lords, Court of Appeal, High Court and the valuation tribunals.

He has been the joint editor of Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement since 1998. He is well known as a speaker and as a regular chairman of the leading conferences and seminars in this specialised sector of the law.

Damian is Chairman of the Trustees of the Sloane Stanley Estate, Chairman of the Council of the Chelsea Society, a member of The Law Society, a member of the British Property Federation’s Residential Property Management Committee and Honorary President of ALEP.

We look forward to welcoming you on Monday 9 October.
