ALEP Member Harold Benjamin announces two new partners

Harold Benjamin is delighted to announce that Mina Kakkad and Huseyin Huseyin are to join the firm’s soon to be 19 strong partnership as at 1 June 2018. Both will be based between the firm’s offices in Harrow and the West End.

Mina Kakkad
Commercial Real Estate Partner

Mina has worked with the firm since October 2014 and is an experienced Commercial Property lawyer fluent in advising clients on all aspects of commercial property work including complex high-value investments, acquisitions, disposals (freehold and leasehold), commercial lettings (acting for both landlords and tenants), portfolio management work and property finance. Some of the transactions Mina has recently worked on include the purchase of a £16.5m multi-tenanted investment property in Southend-on-Sea; acting on the acquisition of office premises for a tenant at an annual rental of circa £350k; the grant of a lease of an education facility for a landlord at an annual rent of circa £500k and dealing with a portfolio transfer (valued at circa £13m) and related refinancing on the incorporation of a partnership. 

Mina acts for a wide-range of clients including corporate organisations, entrepreneurs, local businesses and individuals in the office, retail, hotel and investment sectors.

Prior to joining Harold Benjamin Mina worked in the City for magic circle firm Clifford Chance and then Speechly Bircham (now Charles Russell Speechlys).

Huseyin Huseyin
Property Development & Planning Partner

Huseyin joined the firm in April 2016. He specialises in the development of residential-led mixed- use schemes acting for largescale developers, house builders and landowners on the sale and purchase of development sites across the UK. The work that Huseyin undertakes on behalf of his clients includes negotiating development agreements and long-term options which involve planning and construction obligations and complex site assembly with schemes having a gross development value in excess of £100 million. Huseyin also has expertise in negotiating and drafting complex Section 106 Agreements and other infrastructure agreements.

Huseyin joined Harold Benjamin from DLA Piper and previously worked in both the City and West End for firms that specialise in regeneration work.
