On Wednesday 13 May over 70 ALEP members and guests enjoyed the second annual ALEP quiz night - Quiz in the City - at Rocket, City.

The evening was once again sponsored by Kerry London, with member firms also generously donating raffle prizes worth £800.

Sixteen firms battled to win the highly sought-after ALEP Quiz in the City Cup, answering general knowledge questions on subjects from world cities and sports to cinematic closing lines. Teams also faced multiple choice enfranchisement questions set by ALEP’s Honorary President, Damian Greenish of Pemberton Greenish.

The winning team, ‘Class A’, comprised members from Pemberton Greenish and Tanfield Chambers, and the judges were assured that no help was given by Damian himself!

The One Hit Wonders

Last year’s winning team, which was made up of representatives from firms Trowers & Hamlins and Lamberts, was rechristened the ‘One Hit Wonders’, a moniker that turned out to be most apt. The team fought hard but finished joint second on the leader board alongside the ‘Serious Anoraks’, a team made up of SA Law and Tanfield Chambers.

ALEP’s Honorary Secretary, Alex Greenslade of Leasehold Solutions, acted as MC for the night, presenting the winner’s trophy – and the losing team’s wooden spoon! Dean Calaz, Kerry London’s Divisional MD, was on hand to present the night’s top raffle prize – a £300 gift voucher for the exclusive Shangri-La at The Shard donated by Kerry London.

The raffle raised over £500 and was held in aid of the Nepalese Disaster Fund.
